1) Professional Development—three opportunities are provided for members to stay on the cutting edge of issues related to curriculum, instruction, and supervision from expert presenters.

2) Networking—meet people working in your field with job-like responsibilities to share ideas, common professional interests, and to collaborate and learn from each other.

3) Leadership Development—volunteering for committee work or to be a board member or officer enhances professional leadership skills and extends your network.

4) Political Action—provides a voice for educational leaders at the federal, state, and local levels, provides e-mail alerts and call-for-action on critical educational issues.

5) Membership in Georgia Association of Educational Leaders (GAEL)—GACIS is one of the six affiliates of GAEL. GACIS members are eligible and encouraged to join GAEL and receive the many services provided by the GAEL organization. There is power in numbers. The GACIS/GAEL connection provides more opportunities for professional learning, networking, leadership development, and a stronger more unified voice for political action.

6) Educational Resources—listservs, web sites, newsletters, books, articles/handouts devoted to issues and developments in curriculum and instruction are free with membership. Conferences and workshops are available at reduced registration fees.

7) New opportunities—joining and participating in GACIS/GAEL will provide opportunities to meet, interact, and to work with a group of people who share your commitment to education.

8) Recognition—the accomplishments of exemplary curriculum and instructional leaders are recognized annually with the Distinguished Service Award at the district levels and the state level, Flanders’ Scholarship, and Outstanding Educator Award. |

GACIS/GAEL Individual Membership - $200.00
GACIS/GAEL Institutional Membership - $200.00
This membership is owned by the system and is transferable to eligible individuals within the system. The individual named to represent the system in GACIS/GAEL shall be entitled to hold office as long as he/she is the designated representative. The membership year is July 1, 2009- June 30, 2010.
