SAFE AND DRUG-FREE SCHOOLS

Okefenokee RESA and its member systems receive federal grant money through the Georgia Department of Education (GDOE) to aid in the implementation of system goals related to drug and violence prevention.  RESA serves as a liaison between the GDOE and school systems by providing the technical assistance necessary to plan programs and complete application and evaluation forms that are in compliance with the Principles of Effectiveness.   RESA also serves as fiscal agent for systems choosing to participate in the Okefenokee SDFS consortium.  In addition, RESA provides training activities and materials that support common goals.
