PAGE Academic Bowl for Middle Grades

The PAGE Academic Bowl for Middle Grades needs volunteers to serve as readers, judges and time keepers at our Regional and Semi-final Competitions. The competition is formatted like a quiz bowl, with five team members on each team using a buzzer system to respond to questions.
Regional Competition – Saturday, January 6, 2007
The 12 regional competitions will be held statewide on Saturday, January 6, 2007. The competitions require a short training session to be held that morning. Competition starts around 9:00 a. m. and will end early in the afternoon. Each region will need approximately 25 volunteers to assist with the competition. This opportunity would require a time commitment of about 4 to 6 hours. By indicating below what county you live in, we can determine the regional competition closest to you.
State Semi-final Competition – Saturday, January 20, 2007
Approximately 40 volunteers are needed for the state Semi-finals to be held on Saturday, January 20, 2007 in Macon. Volunteers will need to attend a short training session the morning of the competition. The training session usually begins around 8:00 a. m. with the competition lasting from 9:00 a. m. until early afternoon. This competition would require a time commitment of 4 to 6 hours.
