Wild Card Team Selection

G eorgia Academic Decathlon will invite four Wild Card teams to participate in the state competition scheduled for February 23-24, 2007, at Berkmar High School in Gwinnett County.

School districts with more than one high school engaged in a district-level competition to determine the district-level championship team, are invited to submit scores for other high scoring teams to be considered for the Wild Card slots. The deadline for submitting scores for other high scoring teams in January 18, 2007.

An invitation will be extended to the four highest scoring non-winning local teams to participate in the state competition. Wild Card teams participate at the same level as all district-level championship teams. Teams and team members are candidates for medals, awards, and trophies at the state competition just as all other teams and team members are. Directions for calculating and submitting scores can be found in the GAD Coaches’ Manual. It is important that all deadlines be met.
