Gwinnett Medical Center has recognized the need for open heart services in Gwinnett for a long time. In fact, we have sought a Certificate of Need for open heart twice in the past. Both times, we were turned down by the state which cited competitive issues as the rationale. Now, the need is stronger than ever...and it will only continue to grow.
