2010 Planning, Funding & Budgeting Institute

Title:

The Planning, Funding and Budgeting Institute is offered twice a year and focuses on the effective use of financial resources; operational planning at the school system level; budget development, presentation, and approval; the state funding mechanism; and local taxation for schools.

The topics include:

Funding of Public Education:  This institute track focuses on the state funding mechanism and the impact of local taxation for schools. Dr. Patricia Stokes is the instructor for this course.
Spring Session, February 10 – 11, 2010 (Wednesday and Thursday)

Preparation and Planning of the Budget:  This institute track focuses on the effective use of financial resources, operational planning at the school system level; and budget development, presentation and approval. Mr. Doug Eza is the instructor for this course.
Spring Session, March 10 – 11, 2010  (Wednesday and Thursday)

Administering the Budget:  This institute track focuses on the successful administration of the annual school system budget. Mr. Robert Morales is the instructor for this course.
Spring Session, April 21 – 22, 2010  (Wednesday and Thursday)


Please note:  For each pair of dates, the class will meet from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm on the first day; and 8:00 am - 5:00 pm on the second day.
