Metro RESA Social-Emotional Learning Toolkit

In recent years, more and more school districts have begun to prioritize social-emotional learning (SEL) and adopt a whole child approach to education.  Similiarly, as they have begun to focus more on the social-emotional development of their students, there has been a stronger interest in social emotional learning curriculum.  This toolkit provides flexible SEL lessons teachers can implement with student in the classroom based on core competencies from the Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning (CASEL).  Lessons can be delivered in person or virtually to meet the varying needs of educators and students.  To access the toolkit please click here.

PBIS Boosters  

Tier I PBIS Booster Modules

This Virtual PBIS Booster Series is designed to provide PBIS Leadership Team members with a quick snapshot of the Tier I features to assist them with implementing the PBIS framework with fidelity in their schools. This series is not a replacement for the PBIS Tier I training, but an ideal option for: 1) team members who are new and have never received PBIS Tier training or for, 2) existing team members who would like a refresher on various parts of the initial Tier I training.

The Virtual PBIS Booster Series is made up of nine modules covering all Tier I features with the exception of TFI 1.8 Classroom (PBIS in the Classroom is a separate training). Each module is designed to stand independently of one another so teams can customize the training content based on need/TFI Tier I feature. It is recommended that new PBIS team members watch all the modules in chronological order to build strong foundational knowledge of the PBIS framework.

Tier II PBIS Booster Modules

PBIS Refresh!, a virtual PBIS Tier II Booster Series is designed to provide Tier II PBIS Leadership Team members with a quick snapshot of the Tier II features to assist them with implementing the PBIS framework with fidelity in their schools.  This series is not a replacement for the PBIS Tier II training, but an ideal option for: 1) team members who are new and have never received PBIS Tier II training or for, 2) existing team members who would like a refresher on various parts of the initial Tier II training.

This virtual PBIS Tier II Booster Series is made up of seven modules covering all thirteen features of  Tier II.  Each module is designed to stand independently of one another so individuals/teams can customize the training content based on need/TFI Tier II feature.  However, it is strongly recommended that Tier II PBIS teams watch all the modules in chronological order to build a strong foundational knowledge of the PBIS Tier II systems framework.

PBIS Administrator Booster Module

This Virtual PBIS Administrator Booster is designed to provide administrators in implementing PBIS schools a high-level view of what PBIS is, why PBIS matters and the importance their role plays in ensuring implementation with fidelity. This module is not a replacement for the PBIS Tier I training, but an ideal option for: 1) administrators who are new to an implementing PBIS school and never received PBIS Tier training or for, 2) administrators who received PBIS Tier I training but would like a refresher on the detailed specifics regarding their role in implementation.

New Coaches Orientation

School-Level PBIS Coaches Modules 

School-wide implementation of PBIS is an ongoing and dynamic process that relies on the actions of the PBIS team. The School PBIS Coach is an integral part of this team to ensure that the design and implementation of PBIS strategies across the school are done with fidelity.

This seven-part new coaches orientation provides school-level PBIS Coaches with the knowledge, resources, and tools to be the content expert and schoolwide champion for PBIS. The role of the PBIS Coach is defined along with detailed explanations of the types, functions, expectations, and guidelines of coaching. Furthermore, coaches will learn how to problem solve roadblocks in coaching, lead an effective team, identify resources, use evaluation tools, develop a plan and much more.

PBIS Core Coaching Competencies

The Metro RESA School Climate Team has developed a self-assessment to help those who provide regional, district, or school level coaching support in identifying current strengths and professional development areas around core coaching competencies. The assessment covers coaching competencies in three areas: 1) Technical Knowledge, 2) Interpersonal Skills and 3) Effective Implementation Practices based on the core features of PBIS.  To learn more about the coaching process and how to use the coaching tool please listen to the recording(s) found below with the corresponding supplemental materials.  Please note there are two versions of the tool, each designed for particular PBIS roles.
