Please contact your Member of Congress and thank them for their support on this issue. Their intervention was key to influencing US-DOL to change their new interpretation back to the accepted policy of the previous 20 years as it relates to the farmers' cooperative model.
PREVIOUS ACTION REQUESTED -The North Carolina Congressional Delegation is the best advocate Agriculture has for reaching out to the US Department of Labor and impressing upon leadership at US-DOL that approval of master applications for H2a workers using the farmers' cooperative model of North Carolina is in the best interest of our family farmers, our state and our nation. Please ask the staff person of your member of the NC Congressional delegation for assistance with reverting the Chicago H2A Processing Center of US-DOL policy of approval for master H2A application to the accepted policy of the previous 20 years as it relates to the farmers' cooperative model of North Carolina.
It is also important that you contact US-DOL as well and explain what it would mean for your family farm operation if you were unable to apply for H2A workers jointly and the impact of not being able to transfer workers during the season with other members of the association.
