Learn how to grow mushroom for personal or commercial use. In this
hands-on workshop, participants will learn the basics of mushroom
production, including how to inoculate logs.
Each participant should bring 2 to 4 freshly cut oak or sweetgum logs
(from live trees) for inoculation. Make sure logs are cut down 2 weeks
before workshop. Logs should be approximately 4-8" in diameter and 4'
long.
Farmers in the program who are already in mushroom production can place an order for spawn.
New farmers can get spawn only if they will inoculate a minimum of 200
logs. New farmers will only be given spawn after they have attended one
of the shiitake workshops.
