There will be two locations this year. The morning will be in Deep Gap at Rusty Henson's farm, and the afternoon will start at 1:00 p.m. at Bobby Gragg's farm on Beech Mountain. The charge will be $35 for association members and $40 for others. The exam will include evaluation of the bull's ability to get around, internal and external sex organs, and a semen evaluation. The bulls will also be vaccinated for reproductive diseases and pinkeye. The prices of feeder cattle currently make this exam well worth the money. If your bull is not quite up to standards, you will have late or open cows. This results in a loss of around $100/per calf for every 21 days they are not pregnant. Please call 828-264-3061 to reserve your time. It takes approximately 15 minutes per bull.
