Racing Against Time: Timely Collection of Blood Evidence

Friday, January 8, 2021 (12:00 P.M. - 1:00 P.M.)

PLEASE JOIN US FOR THIS WEB-BASED TRAINING presented by Kenneth Stecker and Kinga Canike, Traffic Safety Resource Prosecutors for the Prosecuting Attorneys Association of Michigan, via WEBINAR.

OVERVIEW

Obtaining an evidentiary blood sample quickly and efficiently in OWI cases is a challenge for multiple reasons, to include implied consent refusals, hospital issues and more. This presentation will describe the changes one department made to its policies, practices and facilities over a period of years to meet and overcome these challenges. The results are fast, effective, user friendly techniques/facilities that are fully integrated with the DRE program and within Michigan law.

Presented by Samuel W. Evans of the Grand Blanc Township Police Department
