PAAM Traffic Safety Training Program
Webinar:
Automotive Event Data Recorders for Prosecutors and
Law Enforcement
Friday, June 10, 2022
12:00 P.M. - 1:30 P.M.
EST
This 90-minute webinar will
be presented by a nationally recognized police trainer and expert witness in
event data recorders (EDRs). Learning objectives include understanding
how the amount and usefulness of the data has increased over time, and a
summary of the current status. Case studies will be presented that
highlight how police obtain the data, how it is analyzed, and how it is
presented in reports and at trial. Strategies for getting the data
admitted and increasing its weight in the minds of the jurors will be
discussed.
Presented by Rick Ruth.
Rick spent over 30 years with the Ford Motor Company and retired 12 years ago
as the company’s internal EDR and airbag expert. He teaches law
enforcement on EDRs all around the country and is passionate about helping
create good case law on EDR admissibility in court.
