Bio

Gloristine Brown is an Eastern North Carolinian, born-and-raised. Gloristine grew up cropping the tobacco fields and worked as a nurse at Pitt Memorial Hospital. In 2014, she became the first Black mayor of Bethel.

As Mayor, she brought together businesses and the community to revitalize her town. She helped open a state-of-the-art Youth Center, renovated the Senior Center, and lowered resident's water and sewer bills by 23%.

Gloristine Brown may come from a small townbut she gets BIG things done in the State House.

In the State House, Gloristine is pushing for legislation to make health care more affordable, ensure a high-quality public education, and bring more good-paying jobs to Eastern NC.
