“Crashing in the Courtroom” is an intensive one-day program in Crash Reconstruction designed to orient prosecuting attorneys to the science and admissibility of evidence relating to serious motor vehicle crashes. Instructor Senior Trooper Steven Kean, VSP-Retired, compresses his 160 hour law enforcement course into essential need-to-know information for the investigation and prosecution of these cases in Virginia courts. Topics will include scene evidence, speed determination, vehicle dynamics, Event Data Recorder (EDR) Analysis and related matters. John Bowers, CASC staff will discuss the admissibility of such evidence in Virginia courts.
