Event Description

On November 12th,  The community will gather for "A Simulation of Poverty".   Leave your real-world identity behind and assume the role of a fellow community citizen who is part of a low income family. Roles range from a working single mother to a senior citizen living solely on social security and everything in between.  Navigate the daily task of maintaining housing and utilities, feeding your family, making loan payments, meeting living expenses, accessing local support services and keeping your children in school; all while subsisting at or below poverty level.  At the end of this simulation, you will gain a deeper understanding of the hardships and frustrations felt by those living in poverty.  The event is sponsored by ESP.  The day begins at 9:00 and concludes at 12:00.  The event is free.
