Event Description

"Litter is a Crime" Learn how to make your community safer by taking the time to enforce Georgia's Comprehensive Litter Prevention and Abatement Act.  The Act, passed during the 2006 Legislative Session makes it easier to cite someone for littering and has authorized additional courts to hear the citations.  Attendees will learn how the law has changed how aggressive litter enforcement has been used as a deterrent to additional crimes, and how to work with the court officials and others to successfully deter littering.  Attendees will receive a litter enforcement resource tool kit for use by law enforcement personnel.
