Local governments must communicate with their residents on multiple levels - distributing news and information, calming fears, celebrating achievements or improvements, and building awareness of county services. In this new age of split-second communication through digital media, it is more important than ever that local governments understand social media and how to use it most effectively. MACo's Social Media Symposium will provide a look at strategic public outreach using social media.
