NDAA-APLAN Regional Opioid Training: Phoenix, AZ
Through a partnership with the Addiction Policy Forum (APF), the National District Attorneys Association (NDAA) is pleased to present 8 regional opioids trainings between July and December 2018.
The regional trainings will highlight successful programs in the areas of diversion, treatment, recovery and prevention, just to name a few. Specific goals of the trainings include:
• Identifying and developing best practices for setting up diversion programs and assisting prosecutors with replicating programs within their jurisdictions, understanding that each jurisdiction has its own characteristics;
• Connecting prosecutors and law enforcement with community treatment providers and other substance use and mental health professionals available to ensure a continuum of care and assessment in the criminal justice system;
• Identifying and assessing impact points related to the opioid crisis within the criminal justice system, including child welfare, traffic safety issues and initial interactions with law enforcement;
Highlighting innovative and effective programming currently being executed by prosecutors and other stakeholders across the country allows for the development of best practices in the field aimed at replicating, enhancing and expanding promising programs to address addiction issues and the overall opioid crisis facing the country.
