The New World of Drugged Driving Conference will provide an overview of the drugged driving problem jeopardizing the safety of Michigan motorists on our highways. Topics that will be covered during the one-day conference will include the following:
- Signs of impairment caused by various drugs;
- What is Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus, why it's the most important standardized field sobriety test, and how to use it in court to win cases;
- Overview of the Drug Recognition Expert Program and the seven drug categories;
- How to overcome hurdles in prosecuting a marijuana-impaired driving case, from voir dire to closing arguments.
FEATURED PRESENTERS
Nationally-known presenters scheduled to present include Joseph Jones of the Ohio State Police Laboratory, Karl Citek of Pacific University College of Optometry, and Idaho Traffic Safety Resource Prosecutor Jared Olson.

REGISTRATION FEE
$50 without overnight accommodation. Breakfast, lunch and an afternoon break will be provided. This conference will be reistered with MCOLES. PACC Training Funds are not available to prosecutors and staff for this conference. This registration fee is to be paid by yourself or your agency.
HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS
Overnight accommodations will be on your own. There are a limited number of rooms available with a discounted rate at the Holiday Inn Express of Okemos as well as the Comfort Inn of Okemos. Details on how to make reservations under the discounted rate will be given upon confirmation of registration.
Registration cancellations received by 5 p.m. June 10, 2016 will
be entitled to a full refund.
