ETHICS & TRIAL INTEGRITY CONFERENCE

Two training dates & locations available:

June 22nd, Crowne Plaza Hotel; 925 S Creyts Rd, Lansing

June 23rd, Treetops Resort; 3962 Wilkinson Rd, Gaylord

The Prosecuting Attorneys Association of Michigan is pleased to present Ethics & Trial Integrity. This is a repeat of last November’s conference. It is directed toward elected prosecutors, senior management staff and trial prosecutors. Attendees are invited to attend this one-day training for presentations and informative discussion concerning a number of topics which confront prosecutors and staff on a daily basis.

Sessions Include:

BRADY/GIGLIO:  An informative presentation about the requirements and pitfalls relative to Brady materials and Giglio concerns.

TRIAL INTEGRITY:  Learn about common appellate errors committed by prosecutors, and how to avoid them during trial.

RULES OF PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT:  The RPC govern the conduct of attorneys, with special rules applicable to prosecutors.  Revisit those rules and important SBM ethics opinions.

MANAGING ETHICS IN YOUR OFFICE:  From the RPC, to Brady to confidentiality and social media, prosecutors and staff must function above reproach.

ROUNDTABLE: Bring topics to discuss with fellow prosecutors.  First, however, there will be a discussion of the National Registry of Exonerations – what is it and what do the Michigan cases listed there tell us?
