IS LIMITED TO 20 STUDENTS-EARLY REGISTRATION IS RECOMMENDED.
This half-day
training is designed to familiarize prosecuting attorneys with the DataMaster
DMT (DMT), the breath alcohol testing instrument now used in Michigan. Sergeant Perry Curtis of the Michigan State
Police will go over how the DMT works, how to properly administer a breath test
using a DMT, and how to deal with other issues that may arise during the
administration of a breath test. Attendees with get hands-on experience with the DMT. In addition, in light of the new Standardized
Field Sobriety Test (SFST) law that went into effect in September, Sergeant
Curtis will review the SFSTs, what substantial compliance means under the new
law, and how prosecutors can prepare for court when dealing with defense
challenges to SFST testimony.

Prosecutors, APA’s and Municipal Attorneys. Law Enforcement will be trained separately at a future date to be
determined.
