Visual Trial School 4.0
Great Wolf Lodge, Traverse City, MI
Monday, June 26th
to Wednesday, June 28th
This year’s course will feature presentations on the following topics: Introduction to Adult Learning
and Effective Training,
Effective Use of Courtroom Technology and Visual Trial Strategies, ethics, Prosecuting the Vehicular Homicide, a
high-tech closing argument demonstration as well as a presentation on using
technology in cases involving multiple victims across multiple jurisdictions. This
training will, of course, consist mainly of guided lab sessions. We will have
two PowerPoint lab groups (Beginner and Intermediate) as before. Attendees will
select the group that they wish to be in and are free to switch between groups.
We will have a presentation and lab on the litigation
software Sanction by Verdict Systems.
This popular litigation software is used by the Department of Justice, the United
Nations, and state prosecutors nationwide to organize and present complicated
cases to a jury in a non-linear manner. If you choose to install the free demo
version of the software prior to the course there will be opportunities for
guided instruction on how to use it.
We will also have presentations and labs on the popular screen
capture/video redaction software Camtasia
and the popular sound redaction tool Audacity.
