Visual Trial School-Motor City Edition
DoubleTree Hotel - Fort Shelby
Detroit, MI
Wednesday, November 15th to Friday,
November 17th, 2017
Come join us in the Motor City for your next Visual Trial School. This
course will feature presentations on the following topics: computer and cell
phone forensic analysis, call detail record analysis, persuasion, courtroom
technology, the visual trial, ethics, and prosecuting vehicular
homicides. There will also be a high-tech closing argument demonstration. This training will, of course, consist mainly
of guided lab sessions. We will have two PowerPoint lab groups (Beginner
and Intermediate) as before. Attendees will select the group that they wish to
be in and are free to switch between groups.
We will have a presentation and lab on the litigation
software Sanction by Verdict Systems.
This popular litigation software is used by the Department of Justice, the United
Nations, and state prosecutors nationwide to organize and present complicated
cases to a jury in a non-linear manner. If you choose to install the free demo
version of the software prior to the course there will be opportunities for
guided instruction on how to use it.
We will also have presentations and labs on the popular screen
capture/video redaction software Camtasia
and the popular sound redaction tool Audacity.
