A Community Response to Sexual Assault & Strangulation Training
February 21 and 22, 2018
Northwood University, Sloan Building - Midland, MI
 
Training Description:
The Prosecuting Attorneys Association of Michigan’s Violence Against Women Project and Sexual Assault Kit Initiative in coordination with the Michigan Coalition on Law Enforcement Standards are pleased to announce a free, two-day training opportunity on issues pertaining to the investigation and prosecution of both current and cold sexual assault cases, as well as the investigation and prosecution of non-fatal strangulation and suffocation.
 
The MCOLES Investigating and Prosecuting Non-Fatal Strangulation & Suffocation training will be held on February 21 and will have two, 4-hour sessions. The PAAM Creating a Coordinated Community Response to Sexual Assault training will be on February 22 and is an all day training. Participants are invited to attend one of the Strangulation sessions as well as the CCCR the following day, though if participants desire to only attend one or the other, that is certainly acceptable.

This training is open to prosecutors, law enforcement, victim advocates, and sexual assault service providers; however, priority seating will be given to prosecutors and law enforcement.
