Testifying on an OWI case can be a daunting experience, especially if it’s your first time.  This training aims to help officers prepare for court, whether it’s their first or 20^th time.  Topics that will be covered in this one-day training include Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and how to educate a jury about them, how to handle common OWI defense challenges on the stand, and the do’s and don’ts of cross examination.  Participants will also get an opportunity to practice testifying based on a prior investigation they did.  Seasoned OWI prosecutors will provide feedback.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Prosecutors and Assistant Prosecutors, Law Enforcement Officers, Traffic Safety Personnel and City Attorneys.

$35 without overnight accommodations

This training will be registered with MCOLES.  Prosecutors and their staff are welcome to attend, however Michigan Justice Training Funds are not eligible to use for this training.

HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS

Overnight accommodations will be on your own. A room block has been set up at the Otsego Club in Gaylord.  Details on room reservations will be given upon registration. 

Registration cancellations received by 5 p.m. July 13, 2018 will be entitled to a full refund.
