The Prosecuting Attorneys Association of Michigan, Child
Abuse Training Services, in cooperation with the Prosecuting Attorneys
Coordinating Council, and the Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS)
is pleased to present a Specialized Child Abuse Training on Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES).
This training is scheduled to be held Aug 14, 2019. It
will begin with registration at 8:00 a.m. on Wed; seminar begins at 8:30 and
concludes by 5:00 p.m.
This presentation on Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) will
educate the audience on how ACEs affect our population. The science and
research shows that children who experience abuse, neglect and/or household
dysfunction, collectively known as ACEs, may face a life of risky health and
social behaviors, chronic health conditions, low life potential and even early
death, without intervention. The
presentation includes information on brain development, epigenetics, ACEs,
potential interventions, and how to build resilience in the lives and
communities.
Please find enclosed a copy of the registration form
for the seminar. There is no registration fee for this
seminar, however, if an attendee fails to complete the training, no credit
will be given and a fee may be assessed to their county or organization. Attendees are responsible for overnight accommodations, transportation,
meals, and other incidental costs. Registering by the cut-off date does not
guarantee attendance.
