The Prosecuting Attorneys Association of Michigan, Child Abuse Training Services, in cooperation with the Prosecuting Attorneys Coordinating Council, and the Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS) is pleased to present a regional, cross-professional Specialized Child Abuse Training seminar on the topic of Abusive Head Trauma  – Presentation, Interactions, & Resolution.  This training will begin with registration at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, October 18, 2019 and conclude by 4:30 p.m.

This seminar is designed for prosecuting attorneys, assistant prosecuting attorneys, CPS workers, police officers, and CAC interviewers who are involved with child abuse investigations or prosecution.

An understanding of the mechanics and characteristics of neurotrauma is critical for professionals involved in child abuse and neglect cases.  This seminar will explore abusive head trauma issues facing CA/N professionals in the field.  Dr. Vincent Palusci, Professor of Pediatrics, NYU School of Medicine, Frances L. Loeb Child Protection & Development Center, will discuss the definition, the offenders and their victims, and factors that present in an abusive head trauma case.

There is no tuition charge or charge for materials for this seminar.  Attendees are responsible for overnight accommodations, transportation, meals, and other incidental costs.
