Hilton Garden Inn
633 N. Canal Rd., Lansing, MI 48917
Thursday, July 20, 2023
8:15 A.M. - 4:30 P.M.
The PAAM Elder Justice Project, in conjunction with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, are pleased to bring you this year's summit, which will be focused on the mental health aspects of handling vulnerable adult investigations and cases.
Secondary Trauma is something that affects many people who work on vulnerable adult abuse and exploitation cases, It is important to understand what it is and how it weighs on us over time. This one-day summit will feature speakers presenting on several aspects of navigating the mental health concerns surrounding these investigations, both on the part of the victims as well as those who work on their behalf.
We are honored to have Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel as our keynote speaker, and we are also excited to present a special screening of the documentary "All the Lonely People". This remarkable film focuses on the effects of isolation, both upon the vulnerable adult and those that care for them.
Please Note: There is no cost to attend the summit and lunch will be provided. Lodging, if needed, will be the responsibility of the attendee. Registration will be open from 8:15-8:45. Please allow yourself time to arrive and sign in.
There will be a short award ceremony. If you feel anyone is deserving of recognition, please complete and return the Good Neighbor Award nomination form by June 30, 2023. The link to the form can be found below or on the PAAM website under the EJP "Public Resources" page. You can also email the EJP Conference Coordinator for a copy. See contact information below.
