This training is for Assistant Prosecuting Attorneys only

Please join the VAWP unit for a full day, in-person interactive training on working with reluctant or recanting victims. This training is designed for new prosecutors or assistant prosecutors new to handling intimate partner violence crimes, or those looking for a refresher if returning to handling these type of cases. Discussions will cover the following issues:

  • Recognizing potential issues regarding reluctant DV victims
  • Charging considerations
  • Discovery issues
  • Due process issues
  • Dealing with reluctant/recanting victims in court

For questions regarding this training, please contact Katlyn Bolan at Bolank4@michigan.gov. PAAM VAWP is unable to offer food or beverage at this training due to grant funding restrictions. Food options in the area will be provided.

This training satisfies 6 hours of continuing legal education for purposes of PAAM's Best Practices Recommendations (including one hour that satisfies ethics training).
