The Prosecuting Attorneys' Council of Georgia is pleased to offer 2019 Prosecuting the Drugged Driver training on Wednesday, March 20 to Friday, March 22, 2019.  The training will be held at the Brasstown Valley Lodge located at 6321 US 76 Young Harris, GA. Training will begin at 8:00 AM on Wednesday and conclude at 12:00 PM on Friday. 14 hours of CLE and/or P.O.S.T. credits will be offered for this course and it is open to Prosecutors, Investigators and Law Enforcement officers. 

Individuals who are accepted into the course will be notified by email no later than January 31, 2019.

  • An Overview of Drugged Driving
  • Direct Examination of Toxicologists
  • Bringing the DRE and the Toxicologist Together
  • Charging Decisions in Drugged Driving Cases
  • Drug Impairment Evidence Under Georgia Law
  • Presenting a Powerful Direct Examination with Help from a DRE
  • Cross-Examination of DRE's
  • Common Challenges and Defenses in Drugged Driving Cases
  • Defense Experts in Drugged Driving
  • The Cutting Edge of Drug-Impaired Driving
 
Lodging
Lodging for this course is provided by PAC at the Brasstown Valley Lodge. Your basic room charges will be billed to the PAC master account. PAC will contact the hotel and set up all lodging arrangements for you based on the number of nights you selected on your registration. You do not need to contact the hotel to make your own reservation. If you are accepted into the course, you will receive a lodging confirmation once we get closer to the course.

Please be advised that if you are accepted into the course and are unable to attend, we will need notification as soon as possible. If you do fail to notify us, you will be billed for your room charges. In addition, if you are a 'no show' for the course, you will not be eligible to attend future PAC grant funded trainings. 
 

Meals
PAC will reimburse the following for meals  (no meals will be provided):
Breakfast: $6.00
Lunch: $7.00
Dinner: $15.00 

Mileage Reimbursement
There will be no mileage reimbursement for any attendees for this course.
