04.26.2017 The Senate Labor, Commerce and Industry Professions and Occupations subcommittee gave this bill a favorable report as amended. The amendment provides criteria for when architectural or electrical drawings and seals are needed for certain commercial building construction.
03.02.2017 The House Labor, Commerce and Industry Committee gave this bill a favorable report.
02.23.2017 The House Labor, Commerce and Industry Administration and Regulations subcommittee gave this bill a favorable report as amended. The amendment strikes all of the language in the architectural examiners bill, leaving current law as it is, and replaces the language with changes to the engineers' practice act. The amendment returns the thresholds for an engineer seal on plans for buildings and structures to those that are less than three stories high and less than five thousand square feet in area.
