The amendment removed the language of the current bill and replaced it with language that clarifies that a watercraft identified as abandoned by the SC Department of Natural Resources may be removed by the local government or sheriff with jurisdiction at their expense.

    A BILL TO AMEND SECTION 50-21-190, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE ABANDONMENT OF WATERCRAFT AND OUTBOARD MOTORS, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT A SHERIFF OR LOCAL GOVERNMENT MAY ENFORCE THE PROVISIONS CONTAINED IN THIS SECTION UNDER CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES.
