05.07.2014 A Senate Judiciary subcommittee gav this bill a favorable report with an amendment. The amendment strikes all the language in the bill and replaces it with language that makes it clear that the legislation only applies where there is an action against the employer of a valid CDL holder under a theory of vicarious liability.

Summary of the bill as introduced: Requires a civil liability claim made against an employer of a person who holds a valid commercial drivers license based on any theory of negligent hiring, training, rentention or entrustment to be considered in the second phase of a trial. |
