SUMMARY: LC 28 6021 Makes significant changes in the elections process. REQUIREMENTS: local school board members shall be elected in the nonpartisan general election next preceding the expiration of the term of office revisions are made to provisions related to write in candidates and the handling of absentee ballots by elections officials adds presidential preference primaries to the list of dates in which special elections may be held candidates in special elections may choose to designate party affiliation on the ballot EFFECTIVE DATE: Upon approval by the Governor and pre clearance by the U. S. Department of Justice.
