Current law forbids the discharge of a firearm within 50 yards of a public highway or street.  HB 1046 would allow said discharge if it occurs at a sport shooting range, a facitility used for firearm or hunting safety courses sponsored by the government, a non-profit or commercial enterprise or a business location of any person, firm, pawnbroker or dealer that is licensed as a firearm dealer. It further specifies that legal hunting is also not subject to the 50-yard restriction. Please let us know if you have concerns with this legislation.
