Staff Analysis of the Legislation

This proposed constitutional amendment provides for the recreation of previously existing counties that were merged with another county.  The recreation of the county would be subject to a referendum in the newly created county only and the boundaries of the new county need only approximate the boundaries of the previously existing county with the boundaries established at the discretion of the General Assembly.
