Staff Analysis of the Legislation

This legislation requires local governments to spend an amount equal to that of the local sales tax collected on motor fuel for the purposes of maintaining an adequate system of public roads and bridges. Failure to do so will result in the local government no longer being authorized to levy the local sales tax on motor fuel.
