Staff Analysis of the Legislation

This legislation strikes the requirement for the Prosecuting Attorney's Council of Georgia to pay (from budgeted or appropriated funds) for depositions to "other sources under which the the depositions are currently paid.  Currently these depositions are very infrequent and are paid by exisiting funds in the DA's budget or as directed by judges court order.  This legislation was amended to include a provision regarding taking of depositions relating to automobile claims must be taken in the state if the insurance company does business in state.   Note:  The language from this bill was added to HB 236.
