Staff Analysis of the Legislation

Amend Chapter 5 of Title 21.  Fair Campaign Practices Act.  When a candidate for public office files a notice of candidacy or is nominated for public office, the Secretary of State is directed to ensure that the candidate receives a blank form of the Code of Fair Campaign Practices which each candidate can voluntarily subscribe to and file with the Secretary of State.  The text of the Code of Fair Campaign Practices is included in the body of the bill and encourages principles of decency, honesty, and fair play.
