Staff Analysis of the Legislation

This bill relates to requesting judicial assistance from other courts so as to provide that a judge may request assistance if the requesting judge is unable to preside because he or she is performing military duty. Any superior court judge or state court judge who is performing ordered military duty is eligible for reelection, and may qualify in absentia as a candidate for reelection to such office. The performance of ordered military duty shall not create a vacancy in such office during the term for which such judge was elected.
