Staff Analysis of the Legislation

Amend 15-2-8.  Any person shall be allowed to take the examination for admission to the State Bar of Georgia and, upon successful completion shall be admitted to the practice of law in this state if such person is a member in good standing of the bar of any other state in the U.S., meets all requirements for eligibility to take such examination and be admitted to the State Bare of Georgia except education requirements other than those established by this paragraph, has eared a J.D. from a law school the graduates of which are eligible for admission to the bar of the state where the law school is located, and was a bona fide reside of Georgia for a least one year prior to commencing law school.
