Staff Analysis of the Legislation

This bill amends Chapter 2 of Title 20 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to elementary and secondary education, so as to provide for public school disciplinary actions against a student who makes terroristic threats against public schools. These children shall be referred to juvenile court with a request for a petition alleging delinquent behavior. It provides for civil damages recoverable against parents or guardians of children who make terroristic threats against public schools. The bill provides for suspension of driversĀ“ licenses of students who make terroristic threats against schools.
