Staff Analysis of the Legislation

HB 1342 amends Title 50 of the O.C.G.A, relating to state government. It revises and restates provisions relating to public access to public records and provisions relating to open meetings. The bill adds the exclusion court hearings involving delinquency, deprivation, or unruliness of juveniles. It changes the violation penalty from a misdemeanor to a felony, and upon conviction shall be punished by imprisonment up to 12 months or a fine not to exceed $5,000.00 or both.
