Staff Analysis of the Legislation

SB 192 amends O.C.G.A. ยง 40-2-41 by establishing that any person who drives a commercial motor vehicle without a visible license plate as described on this Code Section, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and fined a civil penalty of $500.00. Additionally, any employer who knowingly allows, requires, permits, or authorizes a driver to drive a commercial motor vehicle in violation of the provisions of this Code Section shall be fined a civil penalty of $2,500.00.
