SB 205 amends O.C.G.A. § 36-32-1, relating to the adoption
of municipal courts as courts of record. Each municipal court, as a court of
record, shall: have a seal; have the power to fine and imprison; have the power
to grant a new trial on legal grounds; exercise court functions independently
of the judge; proceed according to the course of common law; and have the acts
and judicial proceedings enrolled for a perpetual memorial and testimony. |
