HB 580 amends the act authorizing the Recorder's Court of Columbus, Georgia, to impose and collect a technology fee for each fine imposed by the chief judge, who demonstrated that a need exists for the imposition and collection of a technology fee. The clerk of court shall be entitled to charge and collect a technology fee to be set by the court, not to exceed $25.00, as a surcharge to each fine imposed. Technology fees shall be used exclusively to provide for the technological needs of the court. The funds collected shall be maintained by the clerk of court. |
