Staff Analysis of the Legislation

HB 655 establishes the court administrator of the Magistrate Court of Fulton County as the chief magistrate or his or her designee. It grants the court administrator oversight of the budget of the Magistrate Court of Fulton County.

The Fulton County Finance Department shall make all payroll adjustments related to appointment, transfer, termination, or other personnel action requiring payroll adjustment upon written notification by the court administrator.

Any unexpended county appropriated funds remaining with the court at the end of a fiscal year shall lapse to the general fund of Fulton County.
