SB 285 revises O.C.G.A. § 17-6-1, relating to bailable
offenses, allowing for judges to include as a condition of bail the prohibition
from operating a motor vehicle, if the offense involves violations of O.C.G.A.
§ 40-6-393, relating to homicide by vehicle. When a court of inquiry imposes this
condition of bail, it shall submit such restriction to the Department of Driver
Services and the Georgia Crime Information Center. SB 285 also requires the
GCIC to receive and store this information, and make it available to criminal
justice agenices and the DDS. |
