HB 843 seeks to amend Part 5 of Article 4 of Chapter 11 of Title 16 of the O.C.G.A. relating to Brady Law Regulations. This Act shall be known as the “Gun Safety Act.”

            New paragraph (3) is added to Code Section 16-11-171 which specifies definitions for “gun show” and “gun show vendor.”

            Revisions to subsection (a) of Code Section 16-11-172 incorporate “gun show vendor” into entities subject to the NICS in transfers or purchases of firearms.

            New Code Section 16-11-174 is added to specify that if any part of a firearm transaction takes place at a gun show, it shall be unlawful for any person who is not a dealer to offer for sale, exhibit, sell, transfer, or exchange a firearm to another person who is not so licensed.
