Staff Analysis of the Legislation

SB 300 creates a new section, O.C.G.A. § 50-5A-12, relating to the Office of the State Treasurer. SB 300 provides definitions relating to the State Treasurer. SB 300 requires the State Treasurer to establish the ‘Expenditure Data Base of Georgia.’ The database will contain all expenditures the state of Georgia made during each fiscal year; the database shall be made available on the State Treasurer’s website, and shall be available for five years from the publication date. For each expenditure, the data base shall include the following information: the amount of the expenditure; the date the expenditure was paid; the vendor to which the expenditure was paid; and the state entity that made the expenditure or requested the expenditure be made.
